Philippines president arroyo visits Gul

Philippines President Maria Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, recently called the world's fourth most powerful woman by Forbes magazine, yesterday met with her Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul at the Cankaya Presidential Palace. During their meeting, Arroyo asked for Turkey’s support for the Philippines to have observer status in the Organization of the Islamic Conference (IOC). Gul responded her by saying that her request would be evaluated.
