Visiting Lebanon yesterday, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan Prime called on Israel to apologize for its mistakes in the region, adding that Turkey will do everything in its power to avert a flare-up of violence in Lebanon. "We will continue to raise our voice against those who massacre innocents and children. When needed, we will call a killer a killer," Erdogan said in the Lebanese Turkmen village of Kouachra, near the capital Beirut. "The people of Israel should see this now. If peace comes to the region, as the region wins, so will Israel. But if there is war in the region, the Israeli people will suffer, as will all the peoples of the region. That is why we call on Israel to turn back from its mistakes, apologize, and accept peace."
