PM: Operations against PKK to continue together with peace talks
Military operations against the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) will continue together with talks between Turkish officials and the PKK's jailed leader aimed at disarming the terrorist group, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said yesterday."As we earlier said, our fight against the terrorist group will continue with military operations. But peace talks can also be conducted with the group's political offshoot," Erdogan said while speaking to the press yesterday during a visit to Niger. Erdogan said that the government's aim is to convince the terrorist group to lay down arms and withdraw its operatives from Turkey. "Everyone should act responsibly in this process of talks," the prime minister remarked.
