Pope Benedict XVI yesterday praised Turkey's efforts to normalize relations with Armenia. In an address to 187 ambassadors at the Vatican, Benedict expressed pleasure at the ongoing rapprochement process between Turkey and Armenia, saying that this would pave the way for good relations in the entire Southern Caucasus. Earlier this week, he also received Turkey's new Ambassador to the Vatican Kenan Gursoy, who presented his letter of credentials.
