Speaking to reporters at the Parliament, Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag said that they have been conducting joint efforts with the Ministry of Family and Social Policies so that the Romani community of Turkey is provided with employment and social support. Stating that a comprehensive meeting will be held in the upcoming days with governors of 12 provinces which are widely inhabited by Romani people, Bozdag said the problems faced by those people, as well as solution offers would be discussed at the meeting. "The steps to be taken will be determined. Besides, we are trying to find out what should be done to avoid discrimination with regard to employment. There are also serious problems faced by the Romani people in terms of the education of their children. The social point of view should also be changed. We will take measures about all of these issues, and prepare solution offers about these problems and share them with public," Bozdag added.
