Rasmussen says NATO shares Turkey's concerns
In an interview with Turkish broadcaster NTV, NATO General Secretary Anders Fogh Rasmussen said that NATO allies would not avoid using their instruments for Turkey's defense. Stating that NATO shares Turkey's concerns, Rasmussen said that all allies support Turkey's demand for the missiles. "The deployment of missiles will conform to the NATO chain of command, of which Turkey is also a part," Rasmussen said, adding that the alliance will not hesitate to take "further steps" to ensure Turkey's security and that the group will make their formal decision on Turkey's request for Patriot missiles "within days."
