Senior NATO official holds talks in Ankara

Adm. George Stavridis, the commander of US European Command (USEUCOM) and NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), has met with Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel in Ankara in a little-publicized visit. The meeting took place on Tuesday at General Staff headquarters but was only announced to the public in a statement released by the General Staff on Wednesday. The talks were closed to the press and the statement did not elaborate on what Stavridis and Ozel discussed.
