The 2nd UK-Turkey CEO Forum held in London

The 2nd UK-Turkey CEO Forum was held yesterday in London with the participation of 11 companies from Turkey and nine companies from Britain. As part of the forum, cooperation opportunities in fields of energy, defense, insurance, construction, Turkish brands and finance were discussed and such issues as renewable energy, power systems, liquid fuel and natural gas were determined as main fields of cooperation. Furthermore, it was decided to cooperate in joint ventures and privatizations particularly in the third countries with regard to construction and insurance sectors. In terms of the brand issue, steps to be taken in order to improve the brand perception in Turkey were discussed. As part of the finance issue, an agreement was reached on a common action aimed at turning it into a regional and then a global finance center. Besides, opportunities of cooperation between the two countries will be coordinated by the designated two separate individuals or institutions. Lord Stephen Green, British Minister for Trade and Investment, said that British firms could enjoy enormous opportunities of being involved in rapid economic transformations in Turkey. Furthermore, CEO Forum Co-Chairman Vittorio Colao defined Turkey as one of the shining stars of their global portfolio.
