TRNC’S Talat calls for US to appoint special envoy yo Cyprus

Delivering a speech in New York yesterday to the powerful Council on Foreign Relations Council think-tank, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Mehmet Ali Talat said that he wants the US to abolish sanctions on Turkish Cypriots and appoint a special envoy to help solve the Cyprus problem. Talat added that the envoy could be appointed by State Department or the president.
