The third Intergovernmental Summit will be held by Turkey and Spain with participation of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Spanish counterpart Jose Luis Rodrigues Zapatero today in Ankara. A statement issued by the Press Center of the Prime Minister’s Office says that the summit will be held as part of an agreement reached by Erdogan and Zapatero to hold intergovernmental summits each year between the two countries in order to put relationships in an institutional framework. The statement adds that Zapatero will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Trinidat Jimenez and Infrastructure Minister Jose Blanco Lopez, whereas Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim and some senior officials will accompany Erdogan. It’s envisaged that opinions will be exchanged with regard to political and economic relations between the two countries, Turkish-EU relationships, the Cyprus issue, global economic situation, G-20 and current regional and international developments at the summit.
