Turkey-Ghana Trade and investment Forum held in Istanbul

Turkey-Ghana Trade and Investment Forum was organized on Wednesday in Istanbul by the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON) yesterday with the participation of Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan, President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana and Ghanaian Trade and Industry Minister Hannah Tetteh, as well as a great many businesspeople. Speaking at the opening of the forum, Mahama said that relations between the two countries which have started through education were further improved. Mahama also invited the Turkish businesspeople to invest in Africa for energy exports with a market value of $700 billion, saying, "African businesspeople would like to create partnerships with such countries as Turkey, India and China. In this process, Turkey remains at the forefront to us." For his part, Caglayan said that he was pleased with the trade volume between Turkey and Ghana which increased to $550 million in 2012 from $290 million in 2010. "Our target is to increase this figure to $1 billion within the next two years," Caglayan added.
