Turkey to attend nine international book fairs in 2012

As part of cultural activity programs prepared by the Culture and Tourism Ministry and Turkish Organizing Committee for International Book Fairs, Turkey will again participate in a great many literary, cultural and sectoral events worldwide in 2012. Within this framework, Culture and Tourism Ministry will attend nine international book fairs in order to incorporate the culture, arts, tourism and literature of our country into universally cultural values and promote the Turkish publishing sector on international platforms. Furthermore, it will organize panels, conferences and reading activities, as well as professional workshops at each corner of the world in order to improve publishing sector's business and cooperation opportunities. As in previous years, the Culture and Tourism Ministry will evaluate priorities of each fair, cooperate with various organizations and institutions such as the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and implement joint projects. Among international fairs to be attended by Turkey in 2012 are the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair to be held on March 28 and April 2, Paris Book Fair on March 16-19, Bologna Children's Books Fair on March 19-22, London Book Fair on April 16-18, Tehran International Book Fair in May and Frankfurt Book Fair on October 10-14.
