Turkey's tourism revenues increase in second quarter

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey's tourism revenues reached approximately $5.58 billion in the second quarter of the year with a 3.8 percent rise from the same period seen a year earlier. Foreign visitors constitute 82.1 percent of the revenue, whereas 17.9 percent comes from Turks living abroad. Out of the total tourism expenditure, package tours made up $1.272 billion, while individual visitors spent $4.303 billion. Average expenditure per tourist amounted to $598. Furthermore, the number of Arab tourists visiting Turkey increased by 98 percent, compared to last year.
