Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday attended the Turkish-Chinese Economic and Commercial Cooperation Forum on the third day of his official visit to China. During the forum, Turkish and Chinese companies signed deals in the presence of Erdogan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz and Economy Minister Zafer Çaglayan, as well as many government officials. Speaking at the forum, Erdogan invited Chinese investors to Turkey. Stating that a comprehensive incentive scheme was announced to public just before his visit to China, Erdogan said, "The new incentive system that we will apply offers prominent opportunities both to Turkish and Chinese investors. We provide investors with incentives in terms of space assignment, insurance premiums, taxes and interest rates. I hope that Chinese investors will show interest in these incentives, and I would like to reiterate that our doors are wide open to our friends who are willing to invest in Turkey." Speaking at the forum, Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Wang Qishan stressed that Turkey and China which are involved in a great many platforms such as G-20 are the two emerging economies worldwide. Qishan added that cooperation between the two countries should be boosted in such areas as transportation, energy, telecommunication, and nuclear energy and space studies.
