Turkey's bonded warehouses are set to be transformed into logistical centers to boost Turkish retail's global competitiveness, State Minister Hayati Yazici announced yesterday in Istanbul. "Exporters won't be required to get permission from customs to assemble imported and Turkish products to be exported," said Yazici of the Turkish Retail Sector Strategy Plan, adding that the pace of procedures will be accelerated under a new government strategy. As a safeguard, export products could be recalled from these warehouses if any problems come up, he said.
