On a three-day visit to Denmark that started yesterday, State Minister and Chief European Union Talks Negotiator Egemen Bagis is hoping to break the ice between Ankara and Copenhagen . The two countries have had rocky relations in the past few years due to Denmark 's failure to shut down terrorist PKK-affiliated Roj-TV as well as the Muhammad cartoon crisis. "We decided to organize this official visit the day that Denmark announced it was taking legal action against Roj-TV," Bagis told a group of reporters accompanying him. "We're hoping to start a new era in relations with Denmark ." Bagis is scheduled to meet with Danish politicians, officials and businessmen. He will also participate in several cultural events, including a film festival, meant to introduce Turkey to Danish society.
