Yasar Yakis awarded Legion d'Honneur for his contributions to Turco-French ties

Former foreign minister Yasar Yakis on Wednesday was decorated with the Legion d'Honneur for his contributions to bilateral relations between France and Turkey. French Ambassador to Turkey Bernard Emie hosted a reception at the embassy residence to present the senior statesman the award on behalf of French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Speaking at the ceremony, Emie hailed Yakis as a "perfect team player" between the two countries for his hard work, commitment and singular personality.
