Yildirim marks Maritime and Cabotage Day

Transportation, Maritime and Communication Minister Binali Yildirim issued a written message on the occasion of the Maritime and Cabotage Day. "Turkey now has a say in terms of shipbuilding in the world. The number of shipbuilding yards has increased from 37 to 71 in the last decade. The construction of 52 shipbuilding yards is underway. We are happy to be currently in top six countries in this sector, where we lagged behind just a few years ago," Yildirim said, adding that Turkey has increased its shipbuilding yard capacity by 5.5 folds and exported ships totaling $13 billion in the last decade.
