Transportation, Maritime and Communication Minister Binali Yildirim yesterday made a statement about approval of the French bill criminalizing the denial of Armenian allegations pertaining to the incidents of 1915, saying that France has been proud of incorporating the greatest representatives of freedom of thought, but this time it showed that it has been unable to rescue itself from medieval ages. Speaking in a meeting of the Bab-i Ali Institution yesterday, Yildirim said, "We are of the opinion that the French Senate has not made a decision there, but showed disrespect and insincerity towards the values that it protects. But we will reply to this in a solemn manner. We're not ashamed of anything in our history. The decision has struck a blow against universal law and freedom of expression."
