7th meeting of Turkey-US economic partnership commission held
Following the 7th meeting of Turkey-US Economic Partnership Commission which was held at the Foreign Ministry yesterday, Deputy Undersecretary Selim Yenel gave information on the meeting along with US Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs Jose Fernandez. Yenel said that three issues were discussed at the meeting, the first of which was to turn Istanbul into a global finance center. He stated that the US helped Turkey on the issue in terms of infrastructure and suggestions and that what they mean by infrastructure covered not only transportation, but also communication. Yenel said that the second issue on the agenda was the Nevzero Project which would be initiated in Izmir in order to ensure effective use of energy and that the third issue was the second global entrepreneurship summit to be held in Istanbul in December. He added that possible cooperation to be carried out with comparative advantage and things which could be done in the Middle East and Africa were also discussed at the meeting.
