96th anniversary of Canakkale Victory commemorated

Today, the 96th anniversary of the Canakkale Naval Victory, President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will attend ceremonies in Canakkale to commemorate the event. Kemal Kilicdaroglu, leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), will visit Seyit Onbasi, a veteran of the battle, in the village of Koca Seyit, Balikesir. The ambassadors of Australia, New Zealand, Canada and France will place wreaths at the Canakkale Martyrs' Memorial.
