Assad's special envoy visits Ankara

Syrian President Bashar Assad's Special Envoy Hasan Turkmani arrived in Ankara yesterday to meet with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Turkmani and his delegation, including Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulfettah Ammura, were received by Erdogan at the Official Prime Ministry Residence. Erdogan's closed-door meeting with the delegation lasted for over two-and-a-half hours. Speaking to reporters before the meeting, Turkmani said that some Syrians will remain in Turkey as guests for a short time, referring to the hundreds of Syrians who have recently fled violence there.
