Bagis appears in an interview on Kanalturk

Appearing in an interview on the Kanalturk TV channel, Turkey's Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis responded to the European Commission's progress report on Turkey which was released on October 10. "The commission is so eager to make criticism, but it's not generous in its appreciation," Bagis said, adding that he thought the report was prepared through bargaining and some circles within Turkey had also played a role in the bargaining. Recalling that the European Parliament is also set to release a report on Turkey later this year, Bagis said, "I especially want to underline that I will not take it [the report by the European Parliament] seriously at all, because personal bargaining has already begun in the drafting."
