Bagis hosts fast-breaking dinner in Ankara

Turkey's EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis on Monday hosted a fast-breaking dinner in Cer Modern in Ankara for the Parliament's EU and Foreign Affairs Committees, Ambassadors in Ankara, representatives of EU permanent contact points, representatives of media companies in Ankara, diplomatic correspondents, members of different religions and staff of Turkish Accreditation Agency and Turkish National Agency. Speaking at the dinner, Bagis said that they were elected for a position for some period of time and they did not know whether they continue with their duties or not. "This can be my last iftar with you all as EU minister," Bagis said. In response to a question whether he is leaving his post, Bagis said, "I made speeches like this before. It does not mean I am going to leave my post". Bagis also responded a question if he is going to be a candidate for the position of Istanbul Mayor or not, saying, "I try my best for the position wherever and whichever my party will assign to me."
