Bagis: "Turkey is not being treated as it deserves"

Turkey, a bridge between the East and West for centuries, is not turning its back on the West, but recent developments grow out of Turkey's role, State Minister and European Union Talks Negotiator Egemen Bagis told the weekend Brussels Forum in the EU capital. "On one hand, during recent events, you urged North African and Middle Eastern countries to be democratic, and transparent, and live under the rule of law," he said in a speech. "On the other hand, you fail to treat Turkey as it deserves, though it has developed itself in that way and has been a model for the region."
