Visiting India accompanied by 150 business people, State Minister for Foreign Trade Zafer Caglayan yesterday urged a free trade agreement to boost bilateral trade. Speaking at the Turkey-India Business Forum in New Delhi, Caglayan said Turkey could offer great opportunities for Indian companies pursuing investments in the region. "If you want to expand in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Turkey would be your best partner, and the best jumping-off point for your business," he said. On Turkish investments in India, Caglayan said India has plans for infrastructure and superstructure investments of around $500 billion in the years to come, adding that capable Turkish construction companies could take a large slice of that pie.
