Foreign companies that maximize the amount of Turkish contribution to the production of their goods will be given priority when it comes to Turkish overseas purchases, Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said in Seattle on Saturday. Taking possession of a 777-30ER type plane from American aircraft manufacturer Boeing on behalf of Turkish Airlines (THY) in Seattle,  Caglayan told the giant corporation's representatives who were present at the ceremony organized for the delivery of the plane that there numerous Turkish firms it can do business with. “In particular, I want to give the following message to Boeing. Please realize that when planning the purchase of planes in the future, as an economically powerful and important nation in the world, we will make an evaluation based on the extent of the Turkish contribution to these planes from now on. We will look for the maximum possible amount of domestic contribution to all products we purchase from abroad. Our companies are very good enterprises, and they have the technical infrastructure and intelligence to deliver any kind of orders you desire,” he said. After visiting high tech firms in Seattle for a few days, Caglayan returned to Turkey on the plane he took possession of from Boeing for Turkey's national carrier.
