CHP's Pavey elected to UN committee

Safak Pavey, a deputy from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), has become a member of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.Pavey, the first woman with disabilities to be elected to the Turkish Parliament, also became the first Turkish parliamentarian to be appointed to the U.N. body.The deputy said she was so happy to be a part of a journey that works for bringing humans to a better future.
