Cicek attends meeting of parliamentary union of OIC in Sudan
Speaking to reporters in Khartoum, Sudan, where he has traveled to attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek on Monday defined the Syrian issue as one of the bleeding wounds of the Islamic world. "The things to be done on the issue by the Islamic countries are important," Cicek added. In response to a question about the possible stance of Arabs and results of the meeting, Cicek said that he would like to see a strong message emerging from the meeting, adding that he wouldn't like to see the Islamic world remaining a mere spectator to the issue. Cicek also said that such issues as Cyprus, Azerbaijan-Montenegro, Palestine and Myanmar should also be dealt with.
