Cicek receives Chairman of Senate of Republic of Kazakhstan

Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek yesterday received Kayrat Mami, Chairman of Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Cicek reiterated that Kazakhstan enjoyed the 20th anniversary of its independence this year, adding, "Kazakhstan has gained a greatly important and creditable position both in its region and worldwide in these 20 years." When reminded that Turkey is the first country to recognize Kazakhstan, Cicek said, "This was required by our friendship. If we had become the second, third or fifth country to do this, we wouldn't have been able to carry that burden."
