Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said yesterday that freedom of expression and European values were under threat in France due to a bill aimed at penalizing the denial of Armenian genocide claims.  Speaking at a meeting of the Reform Monitoring Group (RMG) in the central province of Konya, Davutoglu said that if the bill was enacted, Europe would be back to medieval dogmas. Davutoglu pointed out that they could not keep silent, if the issue would be brought to the agenda at any meeting in France. "We have thousands of citizens living in there. Will sanctions be imposed on them, when they express their opinions on the issue?" said Davutoglu, adding, "We are ready to face it; but if they avoided giving us a chance to face it and created dogmas, we would start talking about the French colonialism in every country that we visit, including the African countries."
