"There has been no change in Ankara's demand that Israel apologize and make compensation for last year's Mavi Marmara raid that left nine peace activists dead, said Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Friday. Asked by reporters in the central Anatolian city of Konya about the much-delayed UN report on the Mavi Marmara, Davutoglu said, "We all have stressed this many times, there is no change in our principles." He added, "We will see what happens in time, but our demands from Israel on the incident are very clear, as we have emphasized many times over." Davutoglu's remarks underscored that Turkey will not settle for diluted apologies or proposals for the establishment of international aid funds to compensate the losses on the Mavi Marmara, an aid ship that was carrying humanitarian supplies to help the Gaza Strip.
