Turkey has agreed to double electricity supplies to Iraq to 400 megawatts, Iraq's Electricity Minister Raad Shallal said yesterday. "Turkey will provide Iraq with 200 megawatts in the summer once work on a supply line inside Iraq is completed within two months," he told reporters in Baghdad. Turkey already supplies its neighbor with 200 megawatts from two ships off the coasts of southern Iraq. Turkey is also ready to supply Iraq with an additional 100 megawatts through Syria and will discuss the matter with them in a meeting later this month, Shallal said.
