FM Davutoglu calls on international community to assist the NTC in every possible way

In his opening speech at the Istanbul meeting of the Libya Contact Group yesterday, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that, “We have to find the necessary solutions for the National Transitional Council in Libya to meet its financial needs under the legal framework of the U.N. Security Council. Turkey has given a total of 200 million dollars to the NTC, [including] 100 million dollars since late July,” Calling on the UN to make available frozen regime assets immediately Davutoglu says, the new Libya needs urgent financial support. Also Davutoglu, called on the international community to assist the NTC in every possible way and to work toward releasing frozen Libyan assets for its use.  Meanwhile, Libya’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and the coordinator of a stabilization team in the country, Dr. Aref Ali Nayed said yesterday ahead of the meeting that “Libyan people have liberated their country themselves with Libyan hands. We do not accept any other force, not even a United Nations force, on the ground,”
