Friends of Turkey in Europe: "On sunday, Turkey voted for stability and economic growth"

The Friends of Turkey, an informal parliamentary friendship group in the European Parliament, on Wednesday congratulated the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) for its weekend election victory. "The Turkish people voted for stability and economic growth," Alojz Peterle, chairman of the Friends of Turkey, said in a statement. Former Slovenian Prime Minister and Social Democrat Peterle congratulated both the ruling AK Party on its re-election and the other parties that won seats in Parliament.
