Gul urges UAE businessmen to invest in Turkey
Addressing the Emirati-Turkish Business Forum organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry yesterday, President Abdullah Gul has urged both Turkish and Emirati businessmen to benefit from the joint political will of leadership in both countries and enhance trade and economic cooperation between UAE and Turkey. "My visit will open a new page in currently strong relations between the UAE and Turkey and take our relations much further," Gul said. Stating that the two countries enjoy common factors dating back to many years such as religion and culture, Gul urged UAE businessmen to invest in Turkey. "Europe has grown all it can. There has remained no building, road, subway or airport to be constructed by Europe. Besides, its population is aging," said Gul, adding that Turkey has a population of 75 million and that over the past 10 years it had registered a 5 percent average growth rate and expected 4 percent growth this year. Gul also praised the UAE for its growth and vision, adding that efforts have been launched to increase trade volume between the two countries currently amounting to $5 billion to $10 billion as soon as possible.
