High level military visit to Saudi Arabia paid by Chief of General Staff

Chief of Staff General Necdet Ozel paid an official visit Saudi Arabia, where he was welcomed by his counterpart Huseyin bin Abdullah al-Kabil. Turkey's Ambassador to Riyadh Ahmet Muhtar Gun was also ready at the airport to welcome Ozel. Touching on Ozel's visit, Gun announced that Ozel's official talks would continue until November 21. Gun added that another high level military delegation would travel to Riyadh simultaneously with Ozel to attend the first meeting of the Joint Military Committee. Gun further stated that issues regarding the Military Training Cooperation Agreement which has been signed between two countries were going to be discussed during Ozel's visit. Gun also reiterated that a visit on that level was being paid by Ozel for the first time after 20 years. As part of the first day of his official contacts, Ozel held bilateral meetings with many officials, including Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud. Ozel also conveyed Turkish President Abdullah Gul's official letter to the Prince.
