Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday that Israel will not apologize for the 2010 Gaza flotilla raid, Israeli daily Haaretz reported yesterday. In a telephone conversation with Clinton, Netanyahu said Israel does not intend to adopt an outline to restore its relationship with Turkey. An Israeli official also said yesterday that Israel will stick to its refusal to apologize to Turkey, dampening any prospects for reconciliation between the former allies. The decision, which the official said Netanyahu conveyed to the U.S. Secretary, was made days before the publication of the findings of a U.N. inquiry into the seizure of the flotilla ship, the Mavi Marmara.
