Izmir selected "best cruise destination in Europe"

Turkish resorts, companies and destinations have won an impressive 15 first place awards out of 72 in the latest Europe-wide rankings by World Travel Awards. Other nominees for the top award were Amsterdam, Athens, Cannes, Copenhagen, Dubrovnik, Lisbon, Oslo, Reykjavik, St. Petersburg and Venice. The award was presented during a ceremony in Algavre, Portugal last Friday to Head of Izmir Chamber of Commerce (ITO) Ekrem Demirtas. Speaking at the award ceremony, Demirtas thanked Transportation, Maritime and Communication Minister Binali Yildirim, all of the local managers and those who have made contributions.
