Keldibekov: "Turkey is a model to US"

Kyrgyz Parliament Speaker Ahmatbek Keldibekov yesterday gave warm messages ahead of his visit to Turkey to be accompanied by a crowded delegation of businessmen and reporters upon the invitation of his Turkish counterpart Cemil Cicek. Speaking to the Zaman daily, Keldibekov stressed that Turkey was the first country to give a helping country to Kyrgyzstan, which has suffered difficult times following the ethnic conflicts occurred in 2010. "We have been enjoying a considerably good cooperation between us since our independence in almost every issue from education to economy and security to culture," said Keldibekov, stressing that they consider Turkey both as a friendly country and a strategic partner. Keldibekov invited Turkish businessmen to invest in his country, saying that the amended commercial laws provide foreign investors with many conveniences. Stating that they take Turkey as an example country in terms of its Parliamentary system, Keldibekov said, "In this sense, Turkey is a model to us."
