Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA), a free zone established in Ras Al Khaimah which is one of seven Emirates in United Arab Emirates (UAE), has applied to Turkey to attract investors. General Manager of RAK Investment Authority Peter Michael Schuster said that Turkey had a huge potential." Speaking to the Star daily, Schuster said that they were paying special attention to Turkish investors seeking access to the Middle Eastern, African and Indian markets. In response to a question on his views regarding Turkey, Schuster said, "I consider Turkey from two points of view. I'm a German. When I look from Germany, I would say that if Turks didn't exist, Germany couldn't have achieved its current position. On the other hand, when I look from the Gulf, Turkey has become prominent following the Arab Spring. Turkey will remain a center of attraction both politically and economically. Turkey is also on a very important point with regards to energy corridor." Stating that he flies with the Turkish Airlines (THY) through Istanbul as part of his visits to many countries, Schuster also asked the THY to increase the number of its flights to the region.
