George Sabra, the President of the Syrian National Council (SNC), said that a SNC delegation passed from the Cilvegozu border gate half an hour after the blast, which occurred when a vehicle full of explosives went off at the Turkish-Syrian border gate of Cilvegozu in the southern province of Hatay's Reyhanli district on Monday, killing 14 and injuring nearly 30 people. Speaking to reporters in Istanbul yesterday, Sabra said that their delegation departed for Syria the day the blast happened, adding that they were late due to heavy rainfall, and passed from the border gate half an hour after the blast. Stating that a group of SNC executives consisting of 13 members had made a four-day-long trip to Syria, Sabra said, "When we were on our way back from Turkey to Syria, the trip was delayed for thirty minutes in order to stop for prayers. The blast occurred near the white van, which was also the same van we had used for the trip."
