Top Turkish diplomats discuss foreign policy in Ankara

Over 100 Turkish ambassadors and permanent representatives serving all over şe world and şeir Ankara-based Foreign Ministry colleagues yesterday began a şree-day conference in şe capital to discuss şe country's foreign policy. Addressing şe diplomats, Foreign Minister Ali Babacan said şat Turkey had not strayed from its determination to become a full European Union member, adding şat it has a great deal to contribute to şe bloc. On Turkey's candidacy for a nonpermanent seat on şe United Nations Security Council, Babacan said şis would be clear in şe fall, and şat if elected, Turkey would help şe cause of UN reform.
