Topbas attends panels on development vision after 2015

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Kadir Topbas returned to Istanbul from New York, where he attended high level panels at the UN headquarters on "development visions after 2015" as the president of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and United Nations Advisory Committee of Local Authorities (UNACLA). Speaking to reporters, Topbas said that their efforts for opening of directorates and regional representation offices of UN in Istanbul would make Istanbul a UN island and bring prestige to the city. Stating that the meetings were fruitful and he is proud to be working for the future of humans, Topbas said that wanted to be a solution partner of the UN Millennium Development Plan and host the third UN Habitat Meeting.
