Turkey ranks the third in plastic production in Europe

Huseyin Semerci President of Plastic Industrialists Association (PAGDER) in Turkey, said that Turkey ranked the third in Europe, followed by Germany and Italy, with a plastic production value surpassing $28 billion. Semerci added that the sector has been rapidly growing since 1990s with an increase as from 2010 and that the number of companies operating in the sector has reached 14,000. Stating that 98 of those companies consist of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (KOBI), Semerci said that the sector has employed more than 250,000 people.
