UN's Syria envoy visits refugee camp in Turkey

The joint UN and Arab League envoy, Lakhdar Brahimi, visited a refugee camp for Syrians in the border province of Hatay yesterday. Brahimi  left Turkey right after the visit to the Altinozu camp, without answering reporters questions .In Hatay, Brahimi praised the Turkish treatment of the refugees, saying: "We have heard that Syrians are welcomed and being treated well in Turkey. We hope that peace will be guaranteed in their country as soon as possible." Brahimi also met with Hatay Governor Mehmet Celalettin Lekesiz and other officials at the Governor's Office, where he was briefed on the conditions of the refugees.
