US State Department's spokesperson Victoria Nuland condemned the bombed attack which was carried out in southeastern city of Gaziantep on Monday, leaving nine people dead and more than 60 people injured. "We express our deepest condolences to the loved ones of the victims. The United States stands with Turkey in its fight against terrorism, and we join the Turkish authorities in calling for calm in the wake of these tragic events," Nuland said in a press conference. When a reporter asked, "In Turkey, they are now investigating whether there might be some Syrian link with this explosion. Do you have any information that might indicate that's possible?" Nuland replied, "We haven't seen any claims of responsibility, nor do we have any independent information at this point." Furthermore, an official from the EU said in a statement that they were intensifying their dialogue with Turkey in order to deal with worrisome terrorist threats and that the fight against terrorism was important in terms of Turkey's Positive Agenda.
