Wall Street Journal covers article about Turkish intelligence chief
The Wall Street Journal published an article titled "Turkey's Spymaster Plots Own Course on Syria" on Turkish Intelligence Chief Hakan Fidan the other day. In the article, it was noted that Fidan has taken independent tack in wake of Arab Spring and emerged as the key architect of a regional-security strategy. James Jeffrey, who recently served as an US Ambassador in Turkey and Iraq, stated as follows about Fidan in the article: "Hakan Fidan is the face of the new Middle East. We need to work with him because he can get the job done. But we shouldn't assume he is a knee-jerk friend of the United States, because he is not."
