Transportation, Maritime and Communication Minister Binali Yildirim yesterday replied to reporters' questions about the downing of a Turkish fighter jet by Syria on Friday, saying that not the statements made by the Syrian administration, but the fact that our fighter jet was shot down by Syrians is important. Yildirim said that if any country had a hostile attitude, the other country would respond to this, adding, "But snap decisions on such issues, as you would appreciate, might also cause damages to be hardly compensated. As a result, such issues should be evaluated in detail. This is a supra-political issue. That's why our Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has found it appropriate to discuss the issue with opposition leaders. Furthermore, the Cabinet meeting will be held tomorrow. The next day, the group meeting will be organized. After all of these issues are evaluated through such important channels, Turkey will do what's required to be done."
