Erdogan: "Nothing can destroy the AKP"

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said yesterday that the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) was backed by the Turkish people and that it would never collapse. On the last day of his party's three-day meeting in Kizilcahamam, addressing the AKP deputies, Erdogan said that his party would never forsake serving the nation. "They thought they could destroy AKP with the first blow. Do not make vain efforts. A building based on the citizens will never collapse. They are really disappointed. This building has the nation in its foundation. I believe that we've been the hope for all Turkish citizens for a long time," Erdogan said. Criticizing opposition parties' claims that they had done nothing for the development of the country, the premier said that citizens would teach them a lesson during the elections.
